tCoD: The Silver Fang Ch 16After flying for half the day, Blaze was desperate to land. Her wing muscles hurt abominably, the membranes were stretched raw and her eyes were galled from the wind, narrowed almost to slits.
She glanced over at her friends. They seemed to be coping well, she thought, but then she saw Ethan falter a little and realised he was as exhausted as she was. The others probably were too.
Seveer was flying at the front of the pack, a little way ahead of her, and Embyr and Ethan were clustered behind her.
Blaze studied the land far below. To their right, the vast blue ocean stretched to the horizon. The sun hovered above it, as if poised to jump. I
tCoD: The Silver Fang Ch 15The 'hut' the cat had spoken of was an opening in the side of a rocky mound. The entrance had been built up with dried straw and strong, straight sticks, and a roughly made wooden door.
The den was located in a windswept stretch of scrubby moorland. A few dunes rose up  from the heather, keeping out the worst of the wind. But the air still tasted of salt, and the sounds of the ocean roared up the slope. In the distance, opposite the beach, was the faint dark smudge of a town.
Xavier shivered. He had long since dried off, but the wind still chilled his bones. The two cats didn't seem bothered by it, but they had thick fur.
